In Error and In Truth

In Mark's account of one of the rather humorous attmepts of the Pharisees and Sadducees to stump Jesus with questions, Jesus utters a very profound statement that brings clarity to living in truth. On this particular occassion the Sadducees come to Jesus presenting a well concocted story of a woman whose husband dies and then six husbands after him die. The Saducees demand that Jesus explain whose husband will be hers in the resurrection. Jesus responds: "You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God." (22:9)

Away from family again, this time in Indiana, I have had ample opportunity to reflect upon the many ways in which I am so grateful for the Christian community that surrounds me daily. What makes that community what it is? I cannot help but realize that it is the daily desire to live in truth - to know the Scriptures and the power of God.
