Know

In the rhythm of a busy day, I forget.

I forget that God is omnipotent. I forget that God is sovereign. I forget that my thoughts are not His thoughts. I forget that His ways are higher than our ways. I forget to quiet my heart. I forget to listen.

But then it is a song like this that makes me pause, refocus and know that He is God.

Be still and know that He is God
Be still and know that He is holy
Be still oh restless soul of mine
Bow before the prince of Peace
Let the noise and clamor cease
Be still and know that He is God
Be still and know that He is faithful
Consider all that He has done
Stand in awe and be amazed
And know that He will never change
Be still
Be still and know that He is God
Be still and know that He is God
Be still and know that He is God
Be still
Be speechless
Be still and know that He is God
Be still and know He is our Father
Come rest your head upon His breast
Listen to the rhythm of
His unfailing heart of love
Beating for His little ones
Calling each of us to come
Be still
Be still

Back At Cornell!

The Cornellians are starting to migrate back to Ithaca! While sorting out our schedules and trips to the bookstore, we also moved back into our apartments. Allie and I relocated in a new cozy apartment. The best thing about our new apartment is that it is less than a block away from the boys' home.

Luke is the most incredible help in hanging pictures, changing light bulbs, and even vacuuming three flights of stairs.

And there is always time to welcome the Class of 2014 on campus too!

Clipping the Heifers

In preparation for the Dutchess County Fair next week, Becca and I started clipping the heifers for the show ring.

Cowdog, cowgirl...

...and their helpers.

The cow catching crew.

Walking the cows...

...up the lane to the barn.

Moses was just a little upset that we were utilizing his pen to shave the heifers.

Starting off.

Greasing up the clippers.

Onto the legs and making sure to stay clear of those swift Ayrshire kicks.

And the finished product. One-third complete. Four more heifers to go!

New Helpers

Amelia is the best! She is always eager to help out and try anything.

Today, the staining of the house continued. When we did not have anyone to stain between the side of the house and the ramp, we found Amelia and she was the perfect size!
Amelia's dad, too, has been awesome with helping on the staining project.

Mike, A Great Guy

The Sunday before last Michael Vincent, our 6 foot 9 inch summer intern here at Bentley, left us to pursue his job of ministering and counseling to the students of Princeton. We all miss him and all of us thought that he is an awesome young man. He was willing to do anything you asked (except Mike did not like water balloon fights!) and was always willing to pray for your needs. Mike was a great servant and was always there to lend a helping hand. We all miss you so much Mike!

Tea Island, Lake George 2010

The day could not have been more beautiful! We had three new guests join us this year - Uncle Clarence, Uncle Michael and Cousin Amelia. The day was filled with the most gracious hospitality by Cousin Trip and Sally, naps in the hammock, dreamy boat rides, fast waterskiing, swimming in the perfect temperature water and delicious picnicking.

"I had a really fun time at Lake George. My favorite part was swimming with all my cousins and going on boat rides." - Amelia, age 8

His

Know that the LORD is God.

It is He who made us, and we are His;

we are His people, the sheep of His pasture.

Mom's 52nd Birthday!

Mom celebrated her birthday by going on a romantic lunch date with Dad at Shadows on the Hudson! She also joined the family for a awesome dinner of bbq chicken and of all things, "Angell" food cake! Happy birthday Mom!

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Dear Mom,

Today, we celebrate your life! But where can I begin? You are a living picture of love.

Sometimes it is opening up your heart to the gift of children, but it is done out of love. Sometimes it is making the same peanut butter and jelly sandwich over and over again, but it is done out of love. Sometimes you wake up in the wee hours of the night to talk to your college children, but it is done out of love. Sometimes it is making an outstanding meal for twenty people, but it is done out of love. Sometimes you travel eight hours to be with your children for less than twenty-four hours, but it is done out of love.

You not only love your husband, your children, Grandma, Maryella, but you extend your love to others. Thank you for teaching me what it means to daily take up my cross and follow Christ not only through words but more importantly through actions. Thank you for teaching me what it means to love others. Happy Birthday! Hannah

Passion For Christ

We could sing your praises all day long. We could say thank you all night long, but it would never be enough. Because of Your Son, we are no longer slaves to sin. His death has cut off our chains so that we can serve Him. We want to say thank you, God, for all your love and for Your Son. Thank you, God, for sending your holy son to die so we could truly be free and all our sins forgiven. Thank you, God, for the resurrection of Your Son so that through Him we can conquer death and live forever in heaven with you, God. Thank you, God. Give us a passion for Christ to serve Him in all we do and follow His example for how to live a godly life. Help us to choose the way that is Your way.

Give us a passion for Christ to live in the way that is right. We say thank you God, but it will never be enough. We are overwhelmed by your love and by your grace. We say thank you God, but it will never be enough.
