When things steam up in Dutchess County, it is nice to know of a perfect place to go for cool refreshment -- Bash Bish Falls in the Berkshire Mountains, located in Massachusetts near its borders with Connecticut and New York. After hiking in, we stone-stepped our way back through the stream, where everyone eventually got wetter than initially intended! Even though we have hiked there innumerable times, today we learned something new: the source of the falls is a spring in Mount Washington, NH, and the stream from the falls eventually reaches the Hudson River.
