My Father: The Mustard Seed Planter

Then Jesus asked, "What is the kingdom of God like? What shall I compare it to? It is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his garden. It grew and became a tree, and the birds of the air perched in its branches." (Luke 13:18)

I thought of this parable from Luke today because I think it aptly describes how my dad has planted many small seeds of vision and faith that have grown, with time, into havens of rest for many sojourners. Some of these travelers have found their way to our home with swinging doors; and others, who are down and out and desperate, have been blessed to find their way to his criminal defense office. In either case, I truly believe that many people have found a unique combination of correction and restoration in the shade of a tree that my dad has planted in faith.
