Mom, Jacob, Rebecca and I went hiking on the Millbrook Mountain Trail at Lake Minnewaska to enjoy the almost summer-like weather today. We enjoyed the amazing look-outs and views that the clear sky afforded. We were quite pleased with our wildlife sightings. We saw a beauitiful lavendar butterfly that I could not identify. We were also somewhat excited (and a little nervous) that a bear crossed the path about 75 feet in front of us. It was a smaller bear and so it was not frightening. We were nervous that its mother may be close at hand. After waiting a little while, we sang, "Lord George knows my father, Father knows Lord George" very loudly and continued on the way with no more bear sightings. We didn't take a picture of the bear because we were too nervous to think of the camera when we saw it.

A Bear!
